emm lot of ppl are going be dissapointed, so many were looking forward to small 20 acre hood,at reasonable price, but if they are auctioned then the price will go sky high, and it defeats the whole issue of cheap small hoods for ppl who cant afford big ones,i for one will not be able to bid in auctions,as i would not be able to go over 100k,and with restrictions placed on 20 acres,i dont think its fair or reasonable to sell them in auctions,on other hand ppl who do bid on auctions and win them,no doubt they will be selling them at 200k and above, so we are back to square one,the ppl members on here who im sure THERE.COM REALESTATE intended to help them with reasonable small priced hoods will not come to pass,id ask there realestates to go back to drawing board to come up with more reasonable offer, either sell them, or change restrictions put on them, thanks for reading this, no offence is intended to anyone on here and i hope none taken, best wishes to everyone, natasha

Ugh....instead of doing anything about the 45 acre hood so close to mine it looks like one big hood and causes lag, they have kindly split that hood into 2 20 acres.
So now there's twice the chance of getting rude neighbours with ugly decor. Thanks, There! 'tu |

The big down side to a single owner. To get the full 300 drops, they have to add an additional 2 lots. Two 100 drop 1 acre lots. At a monthly cost of 96,000. Rent is 95k. It just lost it's use for designers.

Greetings,
With the go ahead on the release of 20 acre hoods, the turn over with 45's, 100's, the lack of financially viable residents to assist current owners to continue operation and lastly the over saturation of existing hoods I strongly project that hood ownership is in jeopardy. After years of hood ownership it saddens me to watch those who have put their heart and soul into building a community walk away. Current owners are cut off at the knees with the addition of a smaller hoods which will ultimately encourage more residents to leave the existing larger hoods, leaving more 45's and 100's on the chopping block. I'm sorry to say, I find this disconcerting. Last edited by julia_the_pirate; November 7th, 2009 at 08:08 AM. |

after reading all replies on here im more confused then ever,if i buy a 20 acre hood, and put down say church, school, lighthouse, windmill water cave, observatory, school play ground, shops, hospital, post office, bank, etc etc,can i drop lots around these buildens to decorate them,as 300 allowed drops, would never never cover the funiture items and plants and frowers and trees to decorate the hood, other wise all buildens and gardens would stand empty, how boring, can anyone please explain this to me, or it would be great if staff member, there.com realestate could find time to explain it to me, before i spend tbux on 20 acre, thanks for all replies, mandy

The other side of the coin by putting them in 'direct buy' is that the only people that will get them are the ones who camp out on the buy button. Ultimately your LESS likely to get one that way.
And if There announced the date and time that the hoods were going up for sale (so you know to be around for the button), it would still be a race to see who clicked it first. I stopped going to concerts because of the problem with ticket sales/scalping. Those (*&^( people pay hundreds of other people to click and get tickets the moment they go on sale so that they can sell them for whatever price they want later. At the same time, why should There let someone else be lucky enough to click the hood just so they can turn it around and offer it for 200K more in auctions two minutes later. The auction has the extra ability to show how much demand is out there for the hoods and when enough hoods are released that the price comes down it will be a moot point. The hoods are WORTH TB118K right out of the gate since they come with 2 months rent, expecting them to auction for less than TB100K would mean that there was more supply than demand. Regardless, they totally killed my taste for it. I'd rather be homeless. I didn't see any polls or anything asking what I wanted. The only thing I saw was the original thread asking who would be interested in 20 acre hoods. If they did more market research than that, I didn't see it. But then I've come to expect hidden agendas and playing hide and seek to get info in game. Sigh, I'm over it. The only thing keeping me in game right now is the friends I've made, but I wonder how long that will last.

Look,Mr.Wilson is not going to make desisions that look like blatant disasters,he has more to lose than any one in here, every one of us can be monday morning quarterbacks,we can assume anything and what you think is happening and what IS happening are usually at odds.
Obviously he sees an opportunity to make more money and keep providing this service to us,aside from the disastrously stupid question I posed in another thread,I usually just sit back and let the bugs get worked out and see how new things are implemented before I say anything. Everybody's got opinions, before we jump to conclusions lets just see what's happening. You can cram at least 850 cumulative drops in a 45,OK,if that's split into two 20's then the fixed cumulative drops are 600 and the techs arent dummies, they know that 100 drops increase over the standard 45 'hood is going to need more rescources,I personally think this would bring smoother performance for all around and may even allow for paz users nearby to drop with no adverse affects on either party.
